One movie critics called "Notes on a Scandal" as the Fatal Attraction of the noghties. I don't agree to it, as there's more to Zoë Heller's novel, where the movie is based from. Yes, Richard Eyre's picture is frightening, but only because anyone can relate to it. Being lonely, I mean.
Everyone experience a moment of loneliness, whether in office or school, but in the case of Barbara Covett, being an old spinster can be unbearable at times, so she looks for company. Enter Sheba Hart, whom Barbara feels may be "the one". Sheba have other things in mind, and viewers will wonder if Barbara really wants a relationship if she's younger.
As Barbara Covett, Judi Dench is simply magnificent. It's easy to dislike her for her deception and manipulation, but it's hard to do it because of pity. Imagine having a diary and custom essays uk as your mates...unless you don't mind unrequited love (or don't expect too much from a friendship), the best you can do is to keep a friendly distance from Barbara. Well, that's how I'll approach the situation if I were in Sheba's shoes.
