Job Description:
Head of Retail Locations Consultancy and Analysis – London based
£70,000 - £80,000 + Bonus (up to 20%) + Pension + Private Health
Role:
To work primarily with our client’s retail clients to develop their store portfolio and space planning strategies. Additional involvement with developer clients to optimise shopping centre performance and with venture capital firms to assess store growth plans that underpin potential investments in the retail sector.
Projects are typically 1-2 months in duration, with a combination of on-site and office based work. The ‘Head of Retail Locations Consultancy and Analysis’ will normally lead the day-to-day activities of project work (including direct client exposure).
This role involves:-
- Working alongside the Practice Area director to identify, develop and execute a marketing strategy to underpin the development of their clients Store Performance Analysis & Location Strategy services
- Day-to-day management responsibility for the effective delivery of Location Strategy projects to retailer clients
- Involvement in Travel sector projects as workload requires (e.g. BAA, Network Rail…)
- Contribution to projects in the area of Commercial Due Diligence (where their client base is made up of investors in the retail sector) where expansion plans are a key element of the business plan our client has been asked to review
- Report-writing and presentation of findings to clients
- Ability to develop and present effective project proposals to prospective clients
- Ability to generate marketing leads and opportunities
Person
Ideal candidate would possess the following:
- Graduate (2.1 or higher), ideally in business or geography-related degree
- Minimum 8-10 years professional experience in relevant positions (e.g. retail or location consulting)
- Evidence of strong analytical skills combined with good basic maths skills
- Friendly and outgoing personality ( evidence of ability to mix effectively with executives at all levels)
- Strong presentation skills
- Clean driving Licence
- Experience of Microsoft programmes (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Access).
- Familiarity with any GIS (e.g. MapInfo, Alteryx) or statistics packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS)
- English mother tongue (fluency in other languages a definite advantage)
